South Gate Advisory is a Chilean back-office firm for foreign companies entering Chile. We handle accounting, tax compliance, treasury, payroll and HR, legal representation, fiscal address, corporate secretarial services and legal counseling, with one senior, bilingual point of contact.
How can a foreign company start operating in Chile quickly?
The fastest route is a shelf company with an active bank account. Opening a bank account is usually the longest step for foreign-owned companies, so acquiring an already incorporated company with its account in place lets you start operating in about 2 weeks instead of several months.
Can a foreign company own 100% of a Chilean company?
Yes. Chilean law allows foreign individuals and companies to own 100% of the shares of a Chilean company. You do not need a local partner, although a Chile-based legal representative is strongly recommended.
Do I need a local legal representative and a fiscal address?
In practice, yes. Banks, the tax authority (SII) and other agencies work through local legal representatives, and every company needs a registered address in Chile. South Gate can provide an experienced lawyer as your legal representative and a fiscal address.
Which back-office services do you provide after the company is set up?
Monthly accounting and tax filings, treasury and vendor payments, payroll and HR, statutory and annual compliance, corporate secretarial services and legal counseling. You can use them as a package or one at a time.
Do you work in English?
Yes. Our team is bilingual in English and Spanish, so you get clear reporting and communication in English while we deal with Chilean authorities, banks and vendors in Spanish.
